How to Restore Vegetation on High and Steep Slopes: Hengrui Spray Seeder + Fiber Skeleton Technology Brings Bare Rock Slopes Back to Green

Publish Time: 2026-06-02     Origin: Site

The ecological restoration of high and steep slopes has long faced three major challenges: difficulty in substrate adhesion, difficulty in water retention, and difficulty in sustaining nutrients. Traditional external-soil spray seeding often fails on slopes exceeding 60 degrees or even on vertical rocky surfaces due to substrate detachment and low vegetation survival rates. Hengrui Spray Seeder, combined with fiber skeleton aggregate structure technology, provides an ecological restoration solution for projects such as mines and power stations.

The fiber skeleton aggregate structure technology, developed by the Jingxiu Ecological Construction construction team, features a core innovation of "netting first, then spraying" with a four-layer structural design: laying a fiber skeleton on the slope to provide physical support; spraying a polymer fiber layer to form a porous network that retains water and allows breathability; covering with a plant fiber organic fertilizer layer to supply long-term nutrients; and a surface fiber and moss seed layer to reduce runoff, forming a moss film when wet to prevent erosion. When the fibers decompose, they create a porous structure similar to the human aorta, allowing the substrate to fully absorb water and significantly improve plant survival rates.

Solid technology needs to be matched with reliable equipment. Hengrui Spray Seeder's vortex pump technology enables the spraying of 5–10 cm long fibers without clogging or jamming, ensuring the complete ejection of the fiber skeleton. Its high-lift design allows for direct spraying on slopes of 80–90 meters and horizontal coverage of approximately 200 meters, adapting to various steep slope conditions. Additionally, the equipment supports continuous operation with simultaneous material loading and spraying, greatly increasing the efficiency of a single machine and reducing overall construction costs.

In the Luoding mine restoration project, the construction team relied on the Hengrui Spray Seeder to spray onto rugged slopes. The substrate, intertwined and held by the fiber skeleton, quickly formed a stable matrix layer, preventing the risk of detachment. As the grass seeds took root and sprouted, the originally gray-white rock slope was once again covered in green.

The combination of the Hengrui Spray Seeder and fiber skeleton aggregate structure technology addresses the pain points of restoring vegetation on high and steep slopes from both technical and equipment perspectives, balancing construction efficiency and cost control. It is the preferred solution for the ecological restoration of high and steep slopes in mining, highway, water conservancy, and other engineering projects.

Hengrui Machinery specializes in the R&D and production of spray seeders for slope greening, offering a complete range of models suitable for different slope gradients and area sizes, and provides equipment selection services for high and steep slope greening construction.
